How to join
Detailed steps
Do these steps in order. The Play Store link may not work if you skip a step.
1. Join the Google Group
Open the Google Group link and choose Join group. Opening the page is not enough. You need to join the group before Google Play can show you the test.
2. Become a tester
After joining the group, open the tester link and choose Become a tester. If you see “item not found”, wait a few minutes and check that you joined the group with the same Google account.
3. Install Dearly
Once you are opted in, install Dearly from Google Play. The store may show it as a testing or early access app. That is expected.
Install Dearly from Google Play
A few important notes
- Use the same Google account for the group, tester page, and Play Store.
- Please keep Dearly installed for 14 days. You do not need to use it every day, but uninstalling early may stop your tester spot from counting.
- A short test is enough. Honest feedback is more useful than perfect feedback.
What to try in Dearly
Try the app the way you normally would. Add someone important, add a birthday or anniversary, create a reminder, and notice anything that feels unclear, slow, broken, or awkward.
If you have a minute, tell us:
- Did the app install and open correctly?
- Was anything confusing during setup?
- Did reminders, dates, or contacts behave differently than expected?
- Was any text hard to understand?
- Did the app crash, freeze, or look wrong on your phone?
To test notifications faster
You can add sample people in Dearly so there are more reminders to test.
Go to Settings > Developer options > Add dummy people. Add a couple dozen people if you can. This should help you get notifications almost daily.
You can also change when notification groups are sent.
Go to Settings > Notifications > Group schedules.
If something does not work
I see “item not found”.
Make sure you joined the Google Group first. If you just joined, wait 10-15 minutes and try the tester link again. Also check that you are using the same Google account.
The Play Store says the app is not available.
Open the Play Store, tap your profile photo, and switch to the Google account you used for the group and tester page. Then open the install link again.
I joined the group, but I still cannot install the app.
Open the tester link again and make sure it says you are a tester. You need to become a tester before the store link works.
I have more than one Google account on my phone.
Use the same account in the Google Group, tester page, and Play Store. Account mismatch is the most common reason the install link fails.
Do I need to keep the app installed for 14 days?
Yes. Please keep Dearly installed during the test. You do not need to open it every day, but uninstalling early may stop your tester spot from counting.
Can I leave feedback even if I only tested for a few minutes?
Yes. Short feedback is useful. Tell us what worked, what broke, and what felt confusing.
